Optimizing conditions for safe driving and preventing accidents

Everything starts with preparation. The right truck model, the right features, the right training. Our driver support systems are designed to help drivers avoid accidents. So, we help them see more. We keep them comfortable and focused. And we equip our trucks with technology that helps prevent accidents when it really matters.

At Volvo Trucks, we work proactively to give both truck drivers and other road users the best conditions for road safety, for example through the initiatives See And Be Seen and Stop Look Wave. Because saving lives means more to us than anything else.

Reducing injuries

Despite all efforts, accidents still happen, and our passive safety initiatives focus on minimizing the risk of injury when they do. As a result, we concentrate on building trucks that give the driver, passengers and other road users as much protection as possible.

For more than 50 years we have operated our own accident research team – investigating real accidents to learn why they occur. We learned early on that the more we know about accidents, the better we get at preventing them as well as reducing injuries. And we put all this knowledge into improving road safety. For everyone.
